P.E.T.S. Reduces Hot Runner System Design Time By Up To 640% With AccelerateTM

Plastic Engineering & Technical Services has launched the latest hot runner design engineering knowledge-based software called AccelerateTM Engineering System. The real-time design system reduces development time by up to 640 percent. Plastic Engineering & Technical Services, in collaboration with Fisher Unitech and Vulcan Works in Troy, Michigan, developed the software to better serve customers and improve part quality at a cost-effective approach.

"Typically, a manifold assembly requires eight to ten hours for design time," said Bruce Casey, general manager, Plastic Engineering & Technical Services. "AccelerateTM allows us to design a hot runner system from the initial concept to production preparation in less than one-hour. We will provide the cost-savings to our customers and have plans to provide this service to our customers on our Web site in the coming year."

    Currently, the AccelerateTM Engineering System technology is made available for internal use. The Design Engineers are able to reduce design time, troubleshoot potential design flaws and determine preliminary design adjustments prior to production.
