Plastic Engineering & Technical Services Unveils New Round Hot Runner System--Just In Time Part Delivery Drives Improved Design

Plastic Engineering & Technical Services today announced the introduction of a new round Hot Runner System. The newest edition to the Hot Runner product line is designed with heaters providing better contact on the machine surface because of the round P20 steel design. The radial matched heater construction increases the material temperature more rapidly and distributes the heat uniformly throughout the resin resulting in better part quality.

The round Hot Runner System is designed with “just-in-time” manufacturing expectations in mind. The new design has improved internal bore polishes resulting in quicker color changes and higher part quality. The bore enhancements deliver uniform heating to ensure a more even flow of the resins and reduce scrap from shot to shot. Therefore, the part delivery is more efficient and the production is flexible.

“Our team of engineers continually develop advances and improvements in the injection molding process,” said Bruce Casey, general manager, Plastic Engineering & Technical Services. “We realize that high mold quality and low cost molds drive our customers business success. Innovative thinking helps advance the industry.”

The round Hot Runner System demands less energy providing a more economical solution than a traditional Hot Runner System design.

These Hot Runner Systems include optional screwed-in drops, attached drops with locating rings, and conventional separate drops. Each drop design has individual advantages that benefit various types of operating systems. The screwed-in drop design is a one-piece system for installation ease and provides time-savings. The attached drops with locating ring are screwed into the bottom of the manifold and accommodate a varied range placement. The conventional separate drop allows one to remove the hot runner manifold while leaving the drops in place. These various drop styles allow the mold builders and production facilities ease of maintenance and repair.

Plastic Engineering & Technical Services supplies customers with square and round hot runner manifold systems. The hot runner systems are available in fully-integrated system and individual components to deliver quality mold and injection mold parts.
